2024 Top Cards on Twitter: 11-15

Last post of the day as we look at those that just fell short of the top 10 but are impressive in their own right.  Let’s get to it!

I think the minor league accounts finished in order of level.  We’ve got Memphis on top of the four affiliates as usually happens.  Not sure why that is, given that all the accounts have similar content, though the Redbirds account is a great one.  It’s a great way to keep up with those that are the closest to the major leagues while also finding out about promotions that are going on there in Memphis.  I imagine this one will be a lot of fun during the Cards/Redbirds exhibition game coming next year.

Mr. Jones checks in with his highest ranking ever.  It’s not too surprising that he’s a regular in this neck of the woods, given his active status on Twitter and the great news and content he puts out.  He’s usually got a good finger on the pulse of the team and has an approach to things that can differ from the other beat writers.  He’s always gracious enough to kick off the Musial season (he’ll be on the show next week!) and it’s a fun conversation every year.

Number 13: BengieMolina1
World champion, 2x Gold Glove. Book author: Molina: The Story of the Father Who Raised an Unlikely #Baseball Dynasty https://cameo.com/bengiemolina1

If Bengie saw this, you wonder if he might poke a little fun at his more famous brother.  After all, everyone loves Yadi but Bengie destroys him in the Twitter game.  Half of the Spanish broadcasting team, Bengie has a lot of enthusiasm and excitement about the game that comes out in everything he does.  His positive attitude is in all of his Tweets, which can make for a refreshing change from many other accounts.  For a man that never played here, he has truly embraced St. Louis and vice versa.

Number 12: Ackerman1120

Much like Bengie Molina, we were late in getting Tom Ackerman on the ballot and that is clear by how quickly they’ve established themselves in the upper echelon of this group.  Tom takes it to the next level this year, getting tantalizingly close to single digits.  The renowned KMOX voice brings knowledge about a wide variety of Missouri sports but definitely has a deep well of Cardinal knowledge to draw on.  Sports on a Sunday Morning is a regional staple and that’s in large part to his deft handling of things.

With VHS, we hit a couple of markers.  One, we’ve crossed the 900 total point threshold.  Two, we’ve found the highest ranking person that is no longer on Twitter.  VHS has fully decamped to BlueSky, so you’ll have to go over there for his engaging commentary and great audio/video work.  While many on this list, including some still to come, have a BlueSky presence, VHS is the only one in the Top 25 not to be on the site anymore at all.

And that will bring us to the doorstep of the top 10.  We’ll look at those accounts tomorrow!
