As much as they may go after anyone, Bumgarner is on the radar. However, with the prices that pitching is commanding this offseason, it would not be a surprise to anyone if the Cards sat things out. There is a use for a guy that can provide quality innings, but there isn’t really a desperate need that would force their hand. Bumgarner, like Keuchel and Ryu whom the Cards have also been linked to, is someone the Cards have talked to but it feels like they are going to wait and see if the market comes to them, rather than go to the market. I’d be fine with getting him at the right price and I’d like to see the Cards do something in that vein.
