Adding to the Deck

So I may have mentioned recently that the Cards are doing what needs to be done to stock up on arms…add a couple more RHP’s to the list! Ronnie Williams (Florida HS) and Andrew Morales (UC Irvine SR) join the mix in what can only be described as a sign of what is to come.

Re-Arming From Both Sides

One thing that the St. Louis organization has been able to do better than any other team is produce homegrown talent. They have done so well in fact that the cupboard has become a little bare, especially from the standpoint of right-handed starting pitchers. After adding a pair of top-ranked lefties in the first round [...]

Jack Flaherty confirms that 2014 is the Draft of the pitcher for St. Louis as the North Carolina commit offers as much upside as anyone in this year’s field. Now the only question is — $$$

Great move by the Cardinals, leave all kinds of room for the 34th pick coming up very soon. Luke Weaver is another fast-mover out of Florida State, and a guy who could be a quick sign on his way to Peoria.

T-Minus 3 and Counting

Start the Clock, Part 1

With a baseball draft movie as my background noise, the party has started for what is shaping up as a very exciting evening. This year’s festivities as well as the 2015 Rule 4 draft are stacked with talent, especially on the pitching side. We will start there first since the last three picks tonight for [...]

Darned if you do, darned if you don’t. That was pretty much the scenario that Cardinals manager Mike Matheny found himself in when the ninth inning rolled around last night.  Consider the options he had with Adam Wainwright on the mound, with 104 pitches and eight scoreless innings under his belt: A) He could send Wainwright [...]

Welcome to the Family

Today really should be a national holiday if you ask me. It is the first day of the MLB Rule 4 Draft with the Birds on the Bat stacked with multiple picks for the third consecutive year. And since our loyal congregation cares about all things Cardinals, it is again that time to hand out [...]
