While waiting for the other shoe to drop following Brock Peterson’s promotion, the shake-up was minimal at best. Memphis did add another infielder, but it was not another first base option. Luis Mateo played second base for the Redbirds last night, and Colin Walsh took his spot in the Springfield lineup. Kolten Wong had the day off yesterday, and I expect at least a couple follow-up moves this week.
It was an up and down weekend for the organization, as more weather problems plagued the system. I will be detailing any pitching decisions at the higher levels as well, since the Cardinals will need an extra starter or two before the five-game set with the Pirates.
