Exit Interview: Aledmys Diaz

For the fifth straight year, we’re taking some time in that time between the end of the season and the winter meetings to discuss each player that made an appearance on the St. Louis roster this season.  Whether they played almost every day or never actually got into a game, they get covered in this [...]

Offseason Thoughts…

Hey all, been a while. I got depressed by the Cards near miss, then even more depressed when the Cubs won. Due respect to them, though, they got the job done (in spite of their 184 million dollar free agent, Jason Heyward, who contributed good D and nothing else. Remember when everyone wanted to re-sign [...]

OK, last time out we went over the first batch of the Twitter accounts.  As I said before, if you have thoughts on how better to do this, I’m definitely willing to listen.  Until then, though, perhaps give a follow to some in this batch of Cardinal Twitterers. Remember, if a tie could be broken [...]

The Roster Churn Begins Early

Tara and I will be back doing Gateway to Baseball Heaven tomorrow evening, at least for a night, and we thought that we might not have a lot to talk about except the Cubs being champs and what that means going forward.  The Cardinals, however, had different ideas.  Let’s take a look at all that’s [...]

In the fall of 2007, as our first project as a group, the United Cardinal Bloggers did their own awards.  The various awards have been tinkered with over time (none of us were even dreaming of podcasting at that time, for instance) but the bulk of them have remained the same.  It’s our way to [...]

Rolling Birds Gather No Moss

News, news, news today, as Mark Saxon is reporting the Cardinals will not extend a qualifying offer (reported to be about $17.2 million this year) to Brandon Moss.  What seemed likely at the All-Star Break was torpedoed by his late, terrible slump.

If nothing else, the Cards aren’t wasting time making news. Per Jenifer Langosch, the club is expected to pick up Jaime Garcia’s $12 million option for next season.
