When you look at the top of the current prospect rankings for the Cardinals, the one area seemingly already set was the hot corner. So it was a slight surprise to see St. Louis add another potential long term option at 3B with the 21st pick.
Jordan Walker becomes the newest member of the Birds on the Bat as a Georgia prep star committed to Duke. Much more will be written about him once a few more selections are made, bit this much is clear. It was obvious that the college pitcher the Cards favored wasn’t available since a number were still around.
Walker becomes the latest in a long line of high school position players that have joined St. Louis in recent drafts. He will slot in behind Nolan Gorman but the bat has a clear path at either corner infield spot down the road.
