Cardinals To Celebrate Hispanic Heritage With ‘Fiesta Cardenales’ Theme Night

Members of Latino & Hispanic Community Invited to Busch Stadium for a Cultural Celebration on September 30

ST. LOUIS, Mo., September 7, 2016 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced the addition of Fiesta Cardenales to the 2016 Theme Ticket schedule.

On Friday, September 30, the Cardinals welcome all members of the Latino and Hispanic community for a cultural celebration during Hispanic Heritage Month.  Fans who purchase the special Fiesta Cardenales theme ticket will receive a one-of-a-kind Cardenales t-shirt.  Guests will be able to enjoy a pregame event featuring current Cardinals players and music in Riverview Corner.  Additionally, a portion of each ticket sold will benefit the Hispanic Educational Cultural & Scholarship Fund.  Fans can visit cardinals.com/fiesta for more information.

Fiesta Cardenales will also feature the Cardinals’ first-ever Spanish language home radio broadcasts on September 29 & 30.  The club is partnering with La Ke Buena Spanish internet radio to provide game play-by-play from announcer Polo Ascencio in addition to other production elements.  The color analyst for the two broadcasts will be announced at a later date.

“We’re proud to partner with the St. Louis Cardinals to produce the team’s first Spanish home radio broadcast,” said Brenda Garcia, Owner of La Ke Buena.  “Our listeners have a tremendous passion for Cardinals baseball and we are excited to give them the opportunity to listen to a Spanish broadcast game.”

The Cardinals Spanish broadcasts will be available on St. Louis’ La Ke Buena website (kebuena1510stl.com), KMOX’s sister-station Sports Radio 98.1 HD3 and on cardinals.com and the MLB.com At Bat mobile app.

Additional promotional support for Fiesta Cardenales is being provided by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis, Red Latina, La Tremenda Radio, and El Hispano Newspaper.

Recently, the Cardinals launched a Spanish language Twitter account (@cardenales) in an effort to better reach a rapidly growing segment of the team’s domestic and international fan base.  The account has amassed over 1,000 followers in less than a month.  In addition to launching the @cardenales Twitter account, the Cardinals have also established Los Cardenales, a video topic page on cardinals.com to house Spanish-language video features the Cardinals are producing as part of their expanding video brand journalism efforts.

Fans can purchase tickets for Fiesta Cardenales at cardinals.com/theme.
