19th Annual Winter Warm-Up To Kick Off 2015 Season

Details on how fans can enjoy the holiday weekend highlighted by autographs, Cardinals Caravan and new Hot Stove LIVE! event

ST. LOUIS, January 15, 2015 – The 19th annual Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up (#CardsWarmUp), the Cardinals Caravan (#CardsCaravan), and the new Hot Stove LIVE! (#CardsLIVE) event at Ballpark Village, highlight a busy Cardinals-themed holiday weekend that kicks off the 2015 baseball season.

Winter Warm-Up – the largest fundraising effort for the team’s charitable fund, Cardinals Care – returns to the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch Saturday, January 17th through Monday, January 19th (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) with appearances from nearly 70 current and former Cardinals players. The 2015 Cardinals Caravan, presented by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance, departs Busch Stadium on Friday morning. Over the course of the weekend, more than 30 current and former players will make a combined 22 stops in 21 cities throughout Cardinals Nation along six different routes before returning to St. Louis on Monday night. Friday, January 16, 2015

  • First-ever “Cardinals Hot Stove LIVE!” Event: The free event, which is open to the public and fans of all-ages, begins at 6 p.m. at FOX Sports Midwest LIVE! inside Ballpark Village. Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny, Chairman Bill DeWitt Jr., President Bill DeWitt III, and Rookie of the Year Finalist and NLCS Walk-off hero Kolten Wong will be on hand for the event, as well as new outfielder Jason Heyward in his first public appearance as a Cardinal. The program includes a fan Q&A emceed by broadcaster Dan McLaughlin, a season preview, and “State of Cardinals Nation” address. Free seating and standing room is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Hot Stove LIVE! program will also be broadcast live on FOX Sports Midwest and KMOX Radio.   • 57th Annual Baseball Writers Association Dinner (Renaissance Grand Hotel, 6 p.m.): This year’s dinner celebrates the 2014 Central Division Champion St. Louis Cardinals and commemorates the 30th anniversary of the 1985 National League Champions. The 2015 Dinner will also premiere a special award presentation to retiring MLB Commissioner, Bud Selig, celebrating his invaluable service to the game of baseball. Members of the current Cardinals as well as members of the 1985 squad including Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee, Vince Coleman, Terry Pendleton, Jack Clark, Andy Van Slyke, Danny Cox and Whitey Herzog are scheduled to appear. Additional Winter Warm-Up Highlights (SaturdayMonday)

  • Second Floor: On the second floor of the Hyatt, fans will find collectible memorabilia, baseball cards and more from more than 50 vendors, meet Fredbird and listen to informative presentations by Cardinals executives, and watch the kids enjoy free activities. The Autograph and Admission Sales Booth is also located on the 2nd floor.
  • Fourth Floor: On the fourth floor fans will find the main stage, be able to meet their favorite players at autograph tables, shop the Cardinals Care Store, Cardinals Publications, Team Store and Cardinals Authentics, as well as visit booths for Adam Wainwright’s Big League Impact, Tony La Russa’s ARF Foundation, Stan the Man, Inc., Whitey Herzog, Mike Matheny, Lou Brock and more.
  • Cardinals Care Store: Open throughout the weekend, the Cardinals Care Store is stocked full of Cardinals memorabilia such as discounted baseball caps, team-issued apparel, t-shirts, game-worn jerseys, books, autographed photos and bats, and more. Fans can even purchase photos for collecting player autographs and baseball cases for your new autographed collectibles. Also, any fan that purchased an autograph ticket for a pre-signed baseball from Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Jon Jay, John Lackey or Ozzie Smith may redeem their ticket at the Cardinals Care Store to receive their autographed item.
  • Cardinals Care 50/50 Raffle: Throughout the weekend, Cardinals fans, ages 18 and older, can participate in the Cardinals Care 50/50 Raffle.  Fans can buy tickets (priced 3 for $5, 10 for $10, or 40 for $20) from kiosks located on each level of the event, or from roaming ticket sellers.  Each day of the Warm Up, one lucky fan will receive 50 percent of the gross proceeds from the raffle ticket donations raised, and the other half will benefit Cardinals Care.
  • Kids Club and Varsity Club Booth: Cardinals Kids Club and Varsity Club will have a booth at Winter Warm-Up. All fans that stop by the booth and register for a 2015 membership during the event will have their shipping fees waived. All one-of-a-kind 2015 membership items will be on display.   • Green Team: The team’s “4 A Greener Game” initiative will have a booth where fans can find out more about the Cardinals Green Team – a group of volunteers who collect recyclables from fans throughout each game at Busch Stadium. In exchange for volunteering, fans are able to watch the game in standing room only sections of Busch Stadium.
  • Busch Stadium Team Store: The Busch Stadium Team Store will have a large selection of Cardinals merchandise available at the Warm-Up in the Park View room on the 4th Floor. The permanent store location inside Busch Stadium – open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – will be open during the event with extended hours on Friday and Saturday (10 a.m. – 8 p.m.). The Majestic Store located on the north side of Ballpark Village will be open all weekend, sharing the same hours as the Team Store. Throughout the weekend, Jason Heyward tees will be on sale for $25.
  • Cardinals Publications: Visit the Cardinals Publications booth at its new location directly across from the Silent Auction table and take advantage of various show specials and the opportunity to win an autographed Lance Lynn jersey! Fans who purchase a subscription to Cardinals Magazine for just $35 will receive a voucher for two FREE tickets to a Monday through Thursday home game in 2015 AND gain automatic entry into a drawing to win the Lynn signed jersey. Additional exclusive offers include a reduced price on the popular 2015 Cardinals Official Calendar—the only one featuring the complete spring training and regular season schedules—on sale for just $10 each, or 3 for $25.   • Busch Stadium Tours: Guided tours of Busch Stadium will be offered during the 2015 Winter Warm-Up each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.every 30 minutes. These tours will be offered at the regular tour prices, but include a stop inside the Cardinals Clubhouse – the only time each year the Cardinals’ locker room is open to tours.   • Authentics and Personalized Bats: Cardinals Authentics – the only official source of memorabilia directly from the team – will be selling unique game-used, limited-edition and autographed memorabilia at their booth, including the first in a new collection of monthly commemorative World Series Championships coins. There will also be special prices on specific autographed and game-used items. Also at the booth, fans can buy a personalized Louisville Slugger baseball bat. Each bat, which comes in different size and color options, can feature up to three lines of custom text and two logos, including the collectible 2015 Winter Warm-Up logo. 30% of all personalized bat sales will benefit Cardinals Care. The Cardinals Authentics Store located on the first floor of Cardinals Nation inside Ballpark Village will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Show your Warm-Up pass at the store in Cardinals Nation and you will receive 20% off of your purchase all weekend long.
  • Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum: Fans who visit the Cardinals Museum during Winter Warm-Up weekend- open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – will receive a 2014 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony commemorative program, while supplies last.   • Cardinals Nation Restaurant: Cardinals Nation can now visit Cardinals Nation during the Winter Warm-Up! Traffic

This weekend, The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes and ramps on I-44 in both directions between the Tucker ramp and 7th and Park as well as all lanes and ramps on northbound I-55 from Gravois to the Poplar Street Bridge for construction. Eastbound I-64 through downtown and to the Poplar Street Bridge will remain open in both directions. Warm-Up attendees can detour around the closure in a variety of ways.   • Admission Passes: Although online ticket sales have ended, fans can still purchase three-day passes for the event at the Busch Stadium Team Store, area Cardinals Clubhouse Stores (at Union Station, The Galleria, St. Louis Mills, St. Clair Square, South County Mall, West County Mall, Mid Rivers Mall, and Branson Landing), or at the event’s Autograph and Admission Sales Table on Floor 2. Ticket prices are $40 for fans 16 and older, $10 for fans ages five to 15, and free for kids under five. Members of the military, police and fire departments with an active ID will receive one free adult pass while supplies remain and may be obtained in person at Warm-Up.

  • Free Autographs: A number of players will be signing free autographs. This year, free players require a line ticket which will be made available Warm-Up. Tickets for players signing free autographs at 9am and 10am will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in that players’ autograph line in the Grand Ballroom on Level 4. Tickets for players signing free autographs at 11am or after will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Autograph and Admission Sales booth on Level 2. Those tickets will be made available beginning two hours prior to the player’s signing time.

Cardinals Care
Cardinals Care was established to give fans a way of teaming up with Cardinals players and the organization to help children in our community – both on and off the baseball field. Since it was established in 1997, Cardinals Care has distributed nearly $20 million to support St. Louis area non-profit youth organizations and built 21 youth ball fields in local disadvantaged neighborhoods. 2015 marks the 12th year of Cardinals Care’s innovative Redbird Rookies program, a free baseball league for kids who otherwise might not have the opportunity to play.
