Cardinals Hall of Fame Outfielder Will Be Keynote Speaker for Postgame Event on July 16
ST. LOUIS, Mo., June 29, 2022– The St. Louis Cardinals announced details for the 30th annual Christian Day at the Ballpark on Saturday, July 16, presented by He Gets Us, featuring a postgame program highlighted by Cardinals Hall of Famer Matt Holliday and his wife, Leslee Holliday.
Christian Day at the Ballpark is a day of faith, fellowship, and baseball which begins when the Cardinals take on the Cincinnati Reds at 1:15 p.m. Following the game, all fans are welcome to stay for a special postgame program featuring keynote speakers Matt and Leslee Holliday, along with current Cardinals players Adam Wainwright, Albert Pujols, Paul Goldschmidt, Tommy Edman, Steven Matz, Manager Oliver Marmol and Bench Coach Skip Schumaker sharing their testimonies in faith. A popular event each season, past Christian Day event keynote speakers have included Kurt Warner, Lou Brock, Mike Singletary, Marcus Luttrell, Willie Robertson, Tony Dungy, David Eckstein, Mike Matheny and Lance Berkman.
Holliday played 15 Major League seasons from 2004-2018 with four different franchises, including parts of eight seasons with the Cardinals. A seven-time All-Star and four-time Silver Slugger winner, he was a member of the Colorado Rockies first National League Championship team in 2007, winning NLCS MVP honors that year and later won a World Series championship with the Cardinals in 2011. He finished as the runner-up in NL MVP voting in 2007 after leading the league in batting with a .340 average and driving in a career-high 137 runs. In May, he was elected by Cardinals fans for induction in the Cardinals Hall of Fame. He and his wife are co-hosts of the popular podcast, Table Forty, featuring organic conversations about Jesus and life.
