Exclusive Evening with 2011 World Series MVP Scheduled for August 15
ST. LOUIS, Mo., June 28, 2022– The St. Louis Cardinals announced it will host an exclusive Speaker Series event with 2011 World Series MVP David Freese on Monday, August 15, from 5:00-8:45 PM at Busch Stadium. As part of the event, the St. Louis native will reminisce and share stories about his baseball career and the team’s magical 2011 postseason run during a 90-minute Q&A session with broadcaster Dan McLaughlin.
In addition to the program, guests will enjoy a reception in the Cardinals Club and on the warning track of Busch Stadium, with full bar and upscale dinner buffet, along with a museum exhibit featuring mementos for the 2011 World Series. Following dinner, guests will be seated in the iconic green seats behind home plate for a captivating program with Freese and McLaughlin. At the end of the evening, all attendees will leave with an autographed photo of David Freese.
Freese, who attended Lafayette High School in Wildwood, debuted for the Cardinals in 2009 and spent five seasons in St. Louis. The hometown hero captured both the 2011 NLCS and World Series MVP awards and hit the most iconic home run in Cardinals World Series history. Following his memorable postseason performance that saw him set the MLB record for most RBI (21) in a single postseason, Freese was named an All-Star in 2012.
