Cardinals Announce Baseball Operations Staff Hires and Promotions

ST. LOUIS, Mo., January 7, 2019 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced today a number of staff hires and promotions within the team’s Baseball Operations group today, including the transition of José Oquendo from Major League Coach to Minor League Instructor and the promotion of Adam Olsen to Director of Medical Operations.

The team also announced the promotions of Thomas Knox to Assistant Director, Performance and Lance Thomason to Major League Strength Coach and that Joey Prebynski has been hired for the newly-created position of Major League Game Plan Coach.

Additional Baseball Operations promotions include Brian Seyfert to Baseball Development, Senior Developer; Emily Wiebe to Baseball Development Analyst, Player Development & Performance; Javier Duran, Baseball Operations Analyst; Elijah Tupuola and Craig Richmond from minor league coaches to scouts.  The team also announced the hiring of Chris BourjosFiliberto Fernandez and Jesus Perez as scouts.

Michael Whitty was promoted to Manager, Baseball Communications and Chris Tunno to Administrator, Baseball Information and Media Services.
