Busch Stadium to Host Spartan Sprint Race on August 11

World’s Largest Endurance Brand to Transform Busch Stadium into Obstacle Course Arena for Competitors of All Ages and Skill as Part of Its 2018 Stadium Series

ST. LOUIS, Mo., May 7, 2018– The St. Louis Cardinals today announced that Busch Stadium will host a Spartan obstacle course race event as part of Spartan’s 2018 Stadium Series on Saturday, August 11.  The event will bring a three-plus mile “Sprint” race with more than 20 obstacles to the stadium for competitors ages 14 and older.  The event will also feature the Spartan Kids race for boys and girls ages 4 to 13 years old.

Turning the traditional grounds of America’s most beloved ballparks and stadiums upside down, Spartan Stadium Series events are fast and furious, blending the existing attributes of the facilities (inside and out) with the brand’s constructed obstacles. The test of strength and agility will see competitors climbing steep stairs, racing down concourses with sharp turns, and facing tall walls, rope climbs, monkey bars and more.

“Our Special Events team is always looking for unique opportunities and events to bring people to Busch Stadium,” said Vicki Bryant, Cardinals Vice President of Event Services & Merchandising.  “We are excited to host this Spartan Sprint event and look forward to giving race participants unprecedented access to Busch Stadium and an opportunity to compete in the same venue as their favorite baseball team.”

Competitive heats will take place in the morning, while competitors of all ages and skill levels will race throughout the day during open heats and kids races.  Registration for adults starts at $100 and $31 for kids.  Fans who enter the promo code BUSCH20 from now until May 21 will receive 20% off their registration price.  Spectator passes will also be available for purchase for family, friends and the general public for $10.
