First-ever “Hot Stove LIVE!” event to be held at Ballpark Village on Friday, January 16th; Heyward, Wong to appear
ST. LOUIS, January 8, 2015 – On Friday, January 16th, the St. Louis Cardinals will hold the first-ever Hot Stove LIVE! event at Ballpark Village as the official kickoff to Winter Warm-Up and Cardinals Caravan weekend.
The free event, which is open to the public and fans of all-ages, begins at 6 p.m. at FOX Sports Midwest LIVE! inside Ballpark Village. Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny, Chairman Bill DeWitt Jr., President Bill DeWitt III, and Rookie of the Year Finalist and NLCS Walk-off hero Kolten Wong will be on hand for the event, as well as new outfielder Jason Heyward in his first public appearance as a Cardinal. The program includes a fan Q&A emceed by broadcaster Dan McLaughlin, a season preview, and “State of Cardinals Nation” address.
“Winter Warm-Up weekend has always been the unofficial kickoff to baseball season in St. Louis,” said Bill DeWitt III, President of the St. Louis Cardinals. “We anticipate this event will solidify that, and we look forward to this new opportunity to connect with our fans.”
Free seating and standing room will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the event.
The Hot Stove LIVE! program will also be broadcast live on FOX Sports Midwest and KMOX Radio.
