#SpikeSpot: We’re Going to the Championship!

State College found itself in another do-or-die scenario as the winner of Game Three between the Spikes and the Jamestown Jammers would clinch a berth in the NY-Penn League Championship Series. Long story short, the Spikes promptly scored six runs and shut out the Jammers AND WE’RE GOING TO THE ‘SHIP! WHAT??? WE’RE GOING TO THE ‘SHIP!

State College (A): Won vs Jamestown 6-0 (Advances to NYP LCS)

Welcome back David Washington! The team’s choice for team MVP had been struggling at the plate in the past week or so, but made his presence known once again with a home run, two hits and three RBI total. Cesar Valera and Luis Perez drove in the other two RBI. Jimmy Bosco added a double and a run scored.

Pitching wise, the Spikes fared well from a fantastic start from Andrew Pierce, who threw seven innings, and allowed only four hits and no runs.
