Sowing Seeds: Lyons on the Clock

Tyler Lyons left little doubt who should be the extra starter called up for the doubleheader against the Pirates. The Memphis lefty dominated Round Rock, one of the PCL’s top teams, en route to his fourth victory since returning to the Redbirds’ rotation. With St. Louis battling for any room on second-place Pittsburgh, a solid start from Lyons is crucial to taking the series.

Thursday, July 25th

White smoke — Lyons, Memphis, 7 IP, 2 H, BB, 4 SO, W

The last weekend before the trade deadline is upon us, and all is calm on many fronts. That can change in a second, however, so stay tuned for Cardinals’ HOF posts as well as any extra moves to the rosters.
