With the short-season teams of State College and Johnson City starting soon, I am going to be modifying the Farm Reports to just include lines of key players and a summary of the key events of the night.
The Baby Birds went 2-1 on Friday night. Ruben Gotay had a huge night with 2 home runs and 5 runs batted in. Patrick Wisdom has been heating up lately and hit his 10th home run on Friday. Wisdom is hitting .324 over his last 10 games and has pushed his season average to .222. Luis Perez was promoted to Peoria early on Friday and provided immediate dividends for the Chiefs. Perez blasted a pinch hit 3-run home run in extra innings to add a cushion for the Chiefs victory. Brock Peterson hit his 13th home run for Memphis. Seth Blair hhad another solid start for Springfield.

The Redbirds only managed 2 hits to go along with 2 runs. Brock Peterson hit his 13th home run in the 6th inning, a 2 run home run, The only other hit came from Kolten Wong, a single.
Scott McGregor (L, 1-4) allowed 5 run on 8 hits over 3 and 1/3 innings. He also walked 4 and struck out 2. Eric Fornataro allowed 2 run over 1 and 2/3 innings. Michael Blazek pitched 2 scoreless innings and Victor Marte pitched a scoreless 8th inning.
