10 PLAYERS OPTIONED OR RE-ASSIGNED; MAJOR LEAGUE CAMP ROSTER NOW AT 55
JUPITER, Fla., March 9, 2019 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced this afternoon that they have optioned or re-assigned 10 players to the team’s minor league camp, reducing the number of players in Major League Spring Training camp to 55, including 35 roster players.
The team optioned pitchers Génesis Cabrera, Giovanny Gallegos, Ryan Helsley, infielder Edmundo Sosa and outfielder Adolis García to the Memphis (AAA) roster.
The team re-assigned non-roster pitchers Seth Elledge, Evan Kruczynski, Williams Pérez and catchers Dennis Ortega and Julio Rodríguez to minor league camp.
