Cardinals Recall Sam Tuivailala from Memphis

ST. LOUIS, Mo., Sept. 8, 2015 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Sam Tuivailala from Triple-A Memphis.

Tuivailala, 22, will be joining the Major League club for the fifth time this season.  In 11 prior games with St. Louis the righty is 0-1 with a 1.64 ERA.  After allowing single runs in his first two appearances, he currently has a nine-game scoreless streak (9.0 innings) with the Cardinals.  His last appearance with St. Louis came on Aug. 29 at San Francisco, 1.0 scoreless inning.  At Memphis, Tuivailala was 3-1 with a 1.60 ERA and 17 saves in 43 games, 45.0 innings pitched.  Over his last 10 games at Triple-A, he had a 0.82 ERA with three saves (1ER/11.0IP).

Tuivailala wears uniform #64.
