31st Annual Tournament To Be Held at Norwood Hills Country Club on May 2
Foursomes Will Receive Suite Tickets to May 1st Cards-Dbacks Game for “Celebrity Selection Night”
ST. LOUIS, Mo., February 15, 2022– Registration is underway for the 31st annual Cardinals Ted Savage RBI Golf Classic scheduled for Monday, May 2, at Norwood Hills Country Club with a 10 AM shotgun start. The tournament will feature Cardinals alumni, but more importantly it will be a day filled with golf, fun and giving back!
The tournament will be intimate, with a limited number of fivesomes that include a Cardinals celebrity and traditional foursomes playing at the 36-hole golf course. Each registered team will receive four suite tickets to the Cardinals-Diamondbacks game on Sunday, May 1, with food and beverage provided. Those purchasing a “Celebrity Fivesome” will take part in a pregame random drawing to determine their Cardinals celebrity pairing.
The event honors former Cardinals outfielder Ted Savage’s contributions to the organization as a community ambassador until his retirement in 2012. Proceeds benefit MLB’s Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) community initiative locally and Cardinals Care in its mission of Caring for Kids throughout Cardinals Nation.
“The Ted Savage RBI Golf Classic is one of Cardinals Care’s premier charity events put on each year,” said Michael Hall, Vice President of Community Relations and Executive Director of Cardinals Care. “We’re excited to host participants for a game at Busch Stadium prior to a fun day of golf to celebrate Ted’s legacy and raise money for young people in our community.”
Benefits for the RBI Golf Classic include continental breakfast and on-course refreshments, and post-golf cocktails with heavy hors d’oeuvres, and an opportunity to mingle with Cardinals celebrities. Additionally, each attendee will receive a Golf Swag Bag with multiple options to choose from. Prizes will be given for first through third place teams, Men’s and Women’s Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin contests.
Cardinals celebrities scheduled to take part in the event include Cardinals Hall of Famers Jim Edmonds and Ray Lankford, along with 2011 World Series champion Daniel Descalso. Additional celebrities will be announced at cardinals.com/golf. Registration per Celebrity Fivesome is $5,000 and Traditional Foursomes are $3,500.
