Today feels like Opening Day 2.0 for many reasons, but it is a pair of 3’s that everyone who follows the Cardinals will be watching more than anything else. Dylan Carlson got his MLB debut out of the way in the top of the first although St. Louis is much happier to take the early advantage.
Carlson struck out with the bases loaded sporting uniform #3, however, it was his teammates who kept the inning going in a huge way. With a pair of seven-inning games to kick start a massive schedule this month, the Birds on the Bat jumped out ahead 4-0 to give Adam Wainwright a nice cushion.
St. Louis has been stuck on two wins for entirely too long so any offense right out of the break makes all the difference. There is a very solid chance the Cardinals have more debuts today than has ever possibly happened so stay tuned!
