Top Cards on Twitter 2018: 11-15

Do we need to do the links?  I mean, I feel like you probably don’t need them by now, that you’ve read the other posts if you were going to read them, but things would look a little weird without them.  So here goes, yet again:

121-170 (The Write-Ins)
101-120
76-100
51-75
26-50
21-25
16-20

So we’re getting through the rest (save one) of the double digits in this chapter.  We’ve got an eclectic mix this time, which should be fun!

The “Secret Weapon” of the Post-Dispatch staff, Fredrickson seems to cover everything and do it well.  Ben seems to have also become Derrick Goold’s go-to guest/co-host on the Best Podcast in Baseball but he’s got some other podcasts covering other sports as well, I think.  I mean, they are other sports, so I don’t really give it a lot of attention.  Maybe college football?  Anyway, BenFred moves up a couple of spots this year and we’ll see if that continues as he continues to grow in the St. Louis market.

Gene, who was on the ballot as CrashSTL but has never been shy about changing names on Twitter, is a guy that throws himself into everything with passion.  Sometimes that passion leads to a bit of a roller coaster, especially during the season or during games.  Which, when you think about it, might be the epitome of a regular fan.  Also, as seen from the bio, he’s starting to put his feet in the podcasting water.

When you are an expert at high-quality regional cable journalism, it’s not surprising that you acquire the fans.  Jim Hayes, one of the sideline reporters for FOX Sports Midwest (we’ll have to remember to add EricaLWeston next year as well) issues spirit wins on days off, sends birthday wishes to Cardinals current and past (and, in the case of Bryce Harper, hopefully future), and generally has fun with his job.  He also started The Cat Chat podcast which has been well-received.  You look at the average, you look at the number of 10s he received, and you can tell The Cat is fondly thought of in St. Louis.

Last year, I was surprised how the official account fared since they had obviously improved the product.  Maybe it was a bit of a delayed reaction because this year, they’ve shot up the list.  Being the official account is always going to give you an advantage, but they’ve finally found a bit more of a playful, interacting groove (at least at times) and that goes a long way toward making things interesting and improving your standing on this list.  Trust me, we are a long way from where things stood when I did this post.

There’s no doubt Dan is a man that has plenty of opinions, most notably on sports and movies, and is a man that apparently keeps an IV of coffee going as he seems to not really understand the idea of sleep. Dan’s always putting up another article here or there or chiming in on the issues of the day on Twitter.  He’s not the highest-ranking bald man on this list, but he’s close.

And with that, we’re to the top 10!  Find out who makes the bottom half of that list next time!
