PITCHER RYAN SHERRIFF OPTIONED TO MEMPHIS
ST. LOUIS, MO – May 8, 2018– The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to today’s game that they have recalled right-handed pitcher John Brebbia from Memphis (AAA) and that they had optioned left-handed pitcher Ryan Sherriff to the triple-A Redbirds following last night’s game.
Brebbia has appeared in three games for the Cardinals this season, working 5.0 scoreless innings while striking out seven. He had a 3.0 inning save in the Cardinals April 25 win against the New York Mets.
In four games at Memphis this season, Brebbia has fanned 13 in his 6.2 innings pitched and earned a pair of saves.
Sherriff worked 3.0 innings in a pair of relief appearances this home stand and he’s made a total of five appearances (5.2 IP) for the Cardinals this season.
Brebbia wears uniform no. 60.
