Cardinals Launch First-Ever Fan Music Contest

Fans Asked To Write, Perform & Share Original Piece of Music That Celebrates Team

Winner to Receive Trip to Nashville to Have Their Song Professionally Recorded

ST. LOUIS,Mo., April 2, 2018– The St. Louis Cardinals have launched the first-ever Cardinals Fan Music Contest as a way for fans to share their creativity and musical talent, along with their passion for Cardinals baseball.

Fans are asked to write, perform and share an original song or piece of music that celebrates and promotes the St. Louis Cardinals and our great fan base.  Musical submissions may be from any genre (i.e. country, rock, hip-hop, jazz, classical, a cappella, etc.), but must be an original work that does not borrow from existing songs, music or lyrics.  Whether it’s from a solo artist, garage band, choir or symphony orchestra, we want to hear from all our fans and share their songs with Cardinals Nation!

“Few things go better together than music and baseball,” said Ron Watermon, Vice President of Communications for the St. Louis Cardinals.  “This is an extraordinary opportunity for one of our fans to showcase their musical talent to our millions of fans, while also putting their mark on the Cardinals’ soundtrack.”

One artist/group will be crowned the Cardinals Fan Music Contest winner and will receive an expenses-paid trip to Nashville to have his/her/their song professionally recorded and mastered at the Shoe Box Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.  In addition, the Cardinals will produce a professional music video of the artist’s/group’s work and share it with all of Cardinals Nation!

To be eligible for the contest, participants must submit a direct link to their audio or video performance via the contest submission form at cardinals.com/MusicContest.  Songs must not exceed five minutes in length and must be submitted by Friday, June 22.

Additionally, the club has provided some free, downloadable Cardinals-inspired music on the website to help give fans a sense of what a Cardinals song might sound like.

Fans can join the conversation with #CardsMusic.  For more information about the Cardinals Fan Music Contest, visit cardinals.com/MusicContest.
