Cardinals To Wear Caps of Stoneman Douglas Eagles Baseball Team During First Spring Training Game

Autographed Caps Will Be Auctioned Online To Benefit The Broward Education Foundation

ST. LOUIS,Mo., February 23, 2018– The St. Louis Cardinals have announced Cardinals players and coaches will wear the caps of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles baseball team during the club’s first Spring Training game against the Miami Marlins this afternoon.

“We were all horrified and heartbroken by what happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last week,” said Cardinals Vice President of Community Relations and Cardinals Care Executive Director, Michael Hall.  “Today we join the rest of Major League Baseball in doing our small part to help those affected by this terrible tragedy.”

Following the game, the game-worn caps will be authenticated and autographed by Cardinals players and coaches to be auctioned off by Cardinals Care online at cardinals.com.  Proceeds from the online auction will benefit the Broward Education Foundation, which established the official Stoneman Douglas Victims Fund to support the victims and families of the horrific shooting.

Major League Baseball recently announced that the other 29 MLB teams will also wear the Stoneman Douglas Eagles baseball caps to support the Parkland, Fla. Community and student body of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
