Cardinals Spring Roster Trimmed to 30

TEAM ADDS ERIC FRYER, RE-ASSIGNS FIVE PLAYERS & PLACES ZACH DUKE ON 60-DAY D.L.

JUPITER, Fla., March 29, 2017 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced the following roster moves following their Grapefruit League finale this afternoon:

Placed left-handed pitcher Zach Duke (left elbow) on the 60-day disabled list;

Purchased the contract of catcher Eric Fryer from Memphis (AAA);

Re-assigned infielder Paul DeJong, right-handed pitcher Arturo Reyes, left handed pitcher Ryan Sherriff, and outfielders Harrison Bader and Chad Huffman to Memphis.

Today’s transactions reduced the number of players on the team’s Major League spring roster to 30, including two non-roster invitees.
