ST. LOUIS, MO (May 12, 2014) – The Cardinals are back at Busch and embarking on the first of 19 home games in 23 days over two homestands. The action starts tonight with four games versus the Chicago Cubs, and continues with three-game series against the Atlanta Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks. 2014 All-Star Game balloting begins in-stadium during this jam-packed homestand which is highlighted by six theme nights (including two Scout Nights, Mo Tie Monday, Grant’s Farm Night, Chuck Berry Night and Gardening Night), the Replica 2013 National League Champion’s Trophy giveaway, the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog-Eating Contest, and more.

  • Battle at Busch: Busch Stadium is proud to host the Battle at Busch in conjunction with Mozingo Music and 105.7 The Point. The 2013 schedule features 15 local bands over the course of five nights, at five different Cardinals’ home games out in Ford Plaza. Tonight’s battle features Cardboard RoomSOMA, and Unifyah. Bands begin performing 20 minutes after the gates open with each act given 20 minutes to perform. Each band will be judged on a point system by Mozingo Music and 105.7 The Point. The top three scoring bands of the summer will be invited back to play on September 16th in the “Battle at Busch” finals for the grand prize package.   • Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog-Eating Contest: Nathan’s Famous is making a stop at Busch Stadium for an official 2014 qualifying event for the annual Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest in Coney Island. The official qualifying event will take place at 12 p.m. on May 17 and is part of more than a dozen contests in cities across the United States. World champion Joey Chestnut will be on hand to oversee the 10-minute, all-you-can-eat contest, which will take place around noon in Ford Plaza and feature top-ranked eaters, including world matzo ball, donut and green pea-eating champion, “Badlands” Booker, as well as Sean Gordon, Matthew Raible and Josh Miller. Joey Chestnut will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game. The top male and top female finishers will earn a spot to compete in the finals at the original Nathan’s Famous in Brooklyn, NY. Joey Chestnut of San Jose, Calif., set the world record by eating 69 Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs and Buns in 10 minutes in 2013, and he will seek his eighth straight title this year. Along with Joey Chestnut, a group of students from Keysor Elementary School and their principal, Dr. Bryan Painter, will be attending the game. Official 2014 Scorecard

Also on sale at Busch Stadium this season is the popular 2014 Official Scorecard, featuring the striking artistic designs of local artist Mike Right, who has been creating the timeless Cardinals scorecard imagery since 2003. This year’s edition commemorates the franchise’s 19th NL Pennant and the opening of Ballpark Village. Inside, the scorecard also teaches fans how to score the “Cardinal Way”—a storied tradition by club officials that dates back to the 1940s. Cardinals in the Community

Cardinals Care was established to give fans a way of teaming up with Cardinals players and the organization to help children in our community – both on and off the baseball field. Since it was established in 1997, Cardinals Care has distributed nearly $20 million to support St. Louis area non-profit youth organizations and built 21 youth ball fields in local disadvantaged neighborhoods. 2014 marks the 11th year of Cardinals Care’s innovative Redbird Rookies program, a free baseball league for kids who otherwise might not have the opportunity to play. Cardinals Work “4 A Greener Game”

The Green Team is a group of volunteers who walk down the aisles of the seating bowl in-between innings collecting recyclables from fans and promoting recycling at Busch Stadium. In exchange for their services, volunteers are able to watch the game in standing room only sections of Busch Stadium, as collections are only done in-between innings and during pitching changes so as not to disturb fans trying to watch the game.   • Dynamic Deals of the Week: The Cardinals’ value-based dynamic pricing system allows them to offer outstanding ticket savings to fans throughout the season. Special values will be highlighted each Monday as part of the “Dynamic Deals of the Week” promotion. In 2013, over 50% of games featured tickets available for $10 or less, thanks to dynamic pricing. Fans can sign up to receive weekly Dynamic Deal emails at cardinals.com.
  • KMOX 1120 First Pitch Tickets: The Cardinals are pleased to team up with KMOX 1120 to offer the KMOX 1120 First Pitch Tickets. At 9 a.m. on the day of each game, fans may purchase a voucher good for two tickets to that day’s game for a total cost of $11.20 ($5.60 per ticket). The voucher may be redeemed for tickets 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the game. The tickets may be anywhere in the park, depending on availability.
