#SpikeSpot: Jammers Take Game 1

Sorry for the late post, but don’t worry, here is your State College Spikes recap for the start of the NY-Penn League Playoffs.

State College Spikes (A): Lost 6-5 to Jamestown

Jamestown scored six runs in the first three innings, but State College wouldn’t let the Jammers take the first game easily. In the sixth inning, the Spikes came roaring back, scoring five runs in the top of the sixth inning, but sadly, that’s all the offense SC could muster. Mason Katz was the big hitter tonight, going 2-4 with a double, a run scored, and three RBI. Steven Ramos added a couple hits and a double and Bosco added a double and an RBI as well. Starter Nick Petree gave up all six runs for the Jammers in three innings of work. Kevin Herget and Jhonny Polanco kept the Jammers scoreless in relief, but the bats couldn’t complete the comeback as State College fell to Jamestown in Game 1 of the series.

If State College can win the next matchup against Jamestown, it will force a game three on Sunday to decide who advances on in the playoffs.

As always, PREACH ON, my friends!
