A Night of Wild Games – 6/16 Farm Report

It was a slow night for the Baby Birds as Springfield was rained out and Palm Beach is on their All-Star Break. Peoria had enough excitement to cover the two teams that were off. The Chiefs trailed 9-5 heading into the top of the 9th. With one out and the bases loaded, Jeremy Schaffer crushed a home run to left to tie the game. Jordan Walton was then hit by a pitch and would advance on a wild pitch. Patrick Wisdom would single home Walton to give the Chiefs the lead for good.

In Albuquerque, the Redbirds were crushed by the Isotopes. A day after a drama filled game that saw 8 ejections, the Albuquerque manager was ejected again, this time in the first inning. Boone Whiting got lit up, allowing 6 earned runs in 4 innings. Oscar Taveras sat this one out. He seems to get a day off every third or fourth day. Not sure if its due to his ankle or what, but that is what I would guess.
